Wahpeton has two nice campgrounds available. One in Chahinkapa Park and one on the north end of town along the river.
Kidder Recreation Area is on the north end of town just off 4th Street North. At Kidder there are 8 paved camper/RV spots available. Kidder provides electric (30 amp) and water hook-up. Restrooms with showers are also available. There are two picnic shelters available for use, a dump station, a boat landing, fishing pier, and a fish cleaning station. Campground reservations are available at $35 per night and must be paid in advance. A reservation can only be made by visiting http://wahpetonparks.com Extended stays are approved on a case-by-case basis with certain limitations. There are also available areas for tents at Kidder Recreation Area. The cost for tents is $20.00 per tent per night and can be paid by check or cash in a drop box on site. Reservations for tents are not necessary. Sites are primitive. The tent camping area is along the south walk path south of the RV campsites.
